National Institutes and Regional Centers’ Initiatives

Under the Department’s guidance, National institutes and Regional Centers orchestrated a series of awareness programs. The Ali Yavar Jung National Institute of Speech and Hearing Disabilities in Mumbai offered free hearing screenings for individuals of all ages, facilitating crucial hearing assessments. Additionally, NI NIEPMD in Chennai provided training to Airport authorities at Chennai Airport to enhance awareness.

Online Seminars and Awareness Campaigns

Regional Centers like CRC Chhatarpur and CRC Nagpur conducted online seminars, awareness rallies, and competitions to educate the public on hearing impairment. CRC Chhatarpur hosted a webinar focusing on the pivotal role of audiologists in hearing health, while CRC Nagpur emphasized hearing care, dispelled misconceptions, and advocated for hearing hygiene.

Diverse Outreach Efforts

To engage diverse audiences, CRC Rajnandgaon organized an awareness rally with a drawing competition and a hearing aid distribution program. Similarly, Shantiniketan Ratanpally in Birbhum showcased various activities such as banner displays, dance performances, and poetry recitations by students.

Collaborative Awareness Programs

CRC Davanagere, CRC Lucknow, and CRC Bhopal actively participated in organizing awareness-related events on World Hearing Day. These collective efforts aim to dispel myths around hearing impairment and highlight the importance of awareness and access to hearing aids.
